I rented some movies this weekend and Saturday Michelle came over so we decided to throw one of em in the DVD.
The film was Borat: Cultural Learning’s of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan.
Have any of you seen this movie? When it first came out the hype was thru the fuckin roof and everyone I know that viewed it thought it was either the funniest movie they ever saw or the most amazing thing ever filmed.
All I know is after starting the movie; I’m sitting on my couch and at the other end Michelle is just giggling away. I watching this thing and couldn’t believe the shit being flung at me.
What a load of stank-assed crap. This is what all you muthafuckers found funny, this is what the fuckin Oscar committee thought was good enough to earn a nomination? Am I the only muthafucker in the country not strung out on crack?
I understand what the cat was trying to accomplish and the cleverness of it all. But my fat ass, after ten or fifteen minutes I told Michelle sorry and took it out of the fuckin DVD player.
Now I dig low-brow humor or someone getting one over just as well as the next muthafucker, but I think watching assholes bleed out would be more entertaining. Michelle told me I didn’t give it enough time but what the hell?
I wasn’t bullshitting when I said that everyone of knew that saw this insanely odd piece of shit loved it. So what does that say about me? I dig funny, I love funny, and as a matter of fact I think I have a very highly developed sense of humor.
But there’s just gonna be certain shit out there where although I understand it, I’m not digging on it. Wither it be Napoleon Dynamite, Bevis & Butthead, anything with Martin Lawrence as the lead or Borat: Cultural Learning’s of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan. Is there something wrong with me, did masturbating cause my sense of humor to wilt?

I saw it in the theater and thought it was okay. I personally think that many of the people who loved the movie had likely never seen the show when it was in HBO. The show was much better, I believe. What bothered me was that I could tell that 75% of the movie was scripted. I hoping to watch it again on video to see if I'll get a better appreciation for it.

I watched a few days ago and laughed my ass off. But I can see how it wouldn't appeal to people pretty easy.
I watched it for about 20 minutes and did the same thing you did. I thought it sucked ass.
Most people can't handle humour more sophisticated than fart jokes and foreigners going about in bad clothes saying socially and politically incorrect things. I hear all the time that two of my favourite movies, This Is Spinal Tap and Get Shorty, are absolute pieces of shit. I might be drowning in my ego, but my opinion is most folk just don't get it because they're incapable of rational thought and watching a screen at the same time. Hence the power of the 'Head On' commercial, televangelism, and Fox News.
This is a generalism, but most of America are a group of raging assholes. So don't feel bad; it's just that you actually managed to think whilst watching.
I'm just sayin.
See(no, don't) "Wild Hogs". Stupidity that costs $10 per person ranks (really, really ranks) up there with $400 hammers.
No more new "films" for me.
It's a bunch of crap and every time I fork out the dollars to view such idiocy reminds me that I must have some Scottish-based common sense yet residing in this addled brain.

When I need to make a movie funnier, I've found pot to be much more effective than booze.
One thing that never helps is, trying to analyze tha damn thing.
Glad to know I'm not alone. Borat, Napolean Dynamite, etc. I just can't understand why people think it's so funny. Maybe I'm just not geared that way. Maybe that's why I watch a hell of a lot of BBC.
